How long will the £10 Perks credit last?

Your £10 credit will be valid for 24 months. This is the same as your £5 joining credit and any 2% credit earned on tickets.

Is there a limit on how many people I can refer?

You can refer 25 friends/family within 12 months. You cannot refer more than 10 people in 24 hours.

What is refer a friend and how can I refer?

Refer a friend is a new benefit of LNER Perks, which allows you to be rewarded for recommending LNER to your friend.

To ‘refer a friend’ you must be a member of LNER Perks and you can then share your Referral link or name/email address with a friend or family member who meets the requirements of a ‘Referred friend’

A ‘Referred friend’ is someone who isn’t a member of LNER Perks and joins the scheme via a referral link provided by an existing member of the scheme. They must join before making their first purchase. 

How do I join LNER Perks?

What reward is available for me and my referred friend?

You and your friend will receive £10 of Perks credit. You will only receive this credit once your friend has made an eligible journey and 28 days since the date of travel has passed.

An eligible journey is an LNER booking worth £10 or more.

How do I share the refer a friend scheme with my friends and family?

You can refer a friend by going to your account area within Perks on the app and website. Once you click ‘Refer a Friend’ you’ll see a list of your previous referrals and an opportunity to generate a new link to share with your friends and family. Happy referring!

When will I receive my £10 credit?

To receive your £10 credit, your friend will need to make an eligible booking and travel with LNER.

You will both receive your £10 credit up to 28 days after your friend has travelled with LNER.

An eligible booking is a booking of over £10.

What is an eligible booking that my friend will need to make?

An ‘eligible booking’ is a ticket purchased directly with LNER through the website or app, for travel with LNER. The booking must be worth £10 or more. A ticket booked with a third party will not qualify or be accepted.

If the tickets are cancelled or refunded, the credit will not be awarded. Please refer to the terms and conditions here for further details.

You must be a member of LNER Perks at the time of booking.

I haven’t received my £10 credit, what should I do?

There could be a few reasons as to why you haven’t received your £10 Perks credit:

Your friend is already a member of LNER Perks
They are not classed as a referred friend because they are already a member of LNER Perks.

Your friends journey isn’t eligible
They have cancelled or refunded their journey, meaning neither of you receive your credit. Or, they have booked their journey through a third party not on the LNER app or website. If their booking was under £10, this wouldn’t have qualified either.

Your friend hasn’t travelled yet
If your friend hasn’t travelled, neither of you will receive the £10 credit. After they have taken the journey, it will then take up to 28 days for the credit to apply.

If you are opted into our email communications, you will receive updates on the status of your referral. If you would like to change your opt-in preferences, you can do so here.

If none of the above apply, please contact customers@lner.co.uk, with your name, email address registered to Perks and the issue you are experiencing, with any relevant imagery from your account and your friends. The Customer Service Team will not be able to issue you a voucher for the £10 credit but can assist with investigating the status of your referral.
