How to sign up
LNER Assistant is a personalised alert system. You will only be messaged with information about your journey, including changes to your upcoming train, to help you with your journey in real-time.
To take advantage of LNER Assistant simply:
1. Book direct on the LNER website or on the LNER App and choose your channel preference on the confirmation page
2. If you've already booked, choose one of the following ways to receive your updates
Download the LNER App
Download the App, enable notifications and you’ll automatically receive push notification alerts
Download the AppWhatsApp
Add your mobile number and choose WhatsApp in your contact settings to receive journey updates directly in WhatsApp. Please make sure the mobile number on your account is your own and linked to your booking.
Sign in or create an accountText message
Add your mobile number to receive journey updates by text message (SMS). We’ll always try to send your updates in the easiest way for you to receive them. Though if you turn off WhatsApp in your preferences or do not have the app, your updates will automatically switch to SMS instead. You stay in control of how you receive your journey information at all times.

To receive updates on your next journey, this information must be provided 24hrs or more before you travel.
