You can’t miss St Wulfram’s Church with its spire that can be seen from many parts of Grantham. It was once one of the tallest churches in England and is still one of its most important. There’s been a place of worship here since Saxon times although the version you’ll see was restored in the 1800s. Book a tour to discover the wonders of St Wulfram’s interior or join in one of the many family activities that take place throughout the year.
One of the joys of the UK is its castles and Grantham has a great one in the form of Belvoir Castle. When you arrive you’ll feel its imposing presence before entering its doors and exploring its magnificent collection of art. Take a stroll in the gardens and maybe you’ll see the Duke or Duchess of Rutland, whose family have lived there for almost 1,000 years.
Take time out on your trip to visit the Sir Isaac Newton statue in front of the Guildhall Arts Centre. Sir Isaac, who discovered the laws of gravity, went to school in Grantham and the locals are rightly proud about their most famous son.

Enjoy a fun day out with the family on the Grantham Spy Mission Treasure Trail. You’ll need to solve the clues on buildings and monuments in order to crack the mission. On the adventure you’ll get to see plenty of the sights and enjoy a healthy walk to boot.

Grantham has a great selection of independent boutiques, big brands and arts and crafts. Head for Stamford if you enjoy shopping in magnificent Georgian surroundings and try to visit on a Friday for the bustling street market that takes place there.
There’s also a large Saturday Street Market to explore or you can spend some time in Olrids & Downtown, one of the largest department stores in the East Midlands.
