We are working to resolve a known issue affecting a minority of customers redeeming their Perks credit on the LNER app. During the booking process some customers are being linked to the website from the app and are therefore unable to redeem credit. We are working to resolve this as a priority and will provide further updates as soon as we get them. Thank you for your patience with this. 

  1. These terms and conditions, as well as the Privacy Notice displayed (together "Terms"), govern LNER PERKS. Additional terms and conditions may also apply for optional elements of LNER PERKS such as competitions and prize draws. The Terms may be amended at any time by LNER, and the current version will be displayed here. Membership of LNER PERKS is deemed acceptance of the Terms by any member or proposed member.
  2. We may suspend or terminate LNER PERKS but will give as much notice as we reasonably can before we do so. If this happens all credits or benefits related to LNER PERKS will be suspended or removed.
  3. If we sell or transfer LNER PERKS to another scheme we may transfer all of our rights and obligations under these Rules without any further consent and may disclose or transfer all information we hold about members to a prospective or actual new owner. Such a disclosure or transfer will not alter the rights of such members in respect of the use that can be made of such information by such other scheme.
  4. To be a member of LNER PERKS you will need to have an LNER customer account that can be created via our website or app. To do this you need to supply us with your name and email address. We may refuse an application for any reason.
  5. As a member of LNER PERKS you will receive loyalty communications relating to your membership through a number of channels which can include push notifications, SMS and email. These may include exclusive rewards, offers and invitations from us. You can choose to leave LNER PERKS at any time by cancelling your membership in the LNER PERKS section of My Account at lner.co.uk. This will remove you from any future loyalty communications as we will be unable to deliver rewards and benefits to you. By leaving the scheme, this won’t affect your existing LNER marketing preferences, which are separate.
  6. Please be rest assured that we'll never pass your details on to any company outside of LNER for them to use for their mailing or marketing purposes, unless you have given us consent.
  7. To be a member of LNER PERKS you must be aged 18 or over.
  8. LNER Perks benefits are discretionary. We may at our discretion decline to issue, withdraw or cancel LNER PERKS credit vouchers at any time.
  9. Each customer is permitted to maintain one membership of LNER PERKS, and we reserve the right to terminate membership and/or revoke any associated scheme benefits if we suspect that an individual holds multiple memberships. We also reserve the right to refuse, merge, or terminate additional accounts at our discretion. In cases where fraudulent activity is discovered, we reserve the right to recover funds and take appropriate action. This may include initiating legal action, as deemed appropriate.
  10. We may remove a member from LNER PERKS membership at any time if there are indications of a breach of the Terms or if the member has engaged in inappropriate, misleading, or abusive behaviour. This includes instances where fraudulent activities or misconduct are suspected.
  11. Where you wish to benefit from any of the third party offers available through your Perks membership, your legal relationship in relation to any such offer (including all rights, benefits, liabilities and obligations) are with the relevant third party who is fulfilling that offer. LNER has no liability to you in relation to the fulfilment or non-fulfilment of any such third party offers and any claims or queries you may have in relation to the fulfilment or non-fulfilment of an offer must be directed to the relevant third party provider.

Member Benefits Terms and Conditions

Member Benefits for joining LNER PERKS

  1. LNER PERKS members will receive a ‘joining credit’ of £5 when joining LNER PERKS for the first time. If an individual customer leaves and then re-joins LNER PERKS they will not receive additional joining credit.
  2. The LNER PERKS joining credit can only be added to an LNER customer account. It cannot be donated to charity.
  3. We reserve the right to increase or reduce the amount of credit earned when joining LNER PERKS, including removing it entirely, at any time.
  4. LNER reserves the right to: (a) withdraw at any time any LNER PERKS joining credit that was granted in the case of any fraudulent activity or in error; (b) withhold or delay issuing LNER PERKS joining credit; or (c) change these terms at any time.

Member Benefits for Tickets bought online through LNER.co.uk (desktop website, mobile website) or the LNER mobile app

  1. LNER PERKS members will receive an LNER PERKS ‘earned credit’ of 2% on every £1 spent on LNER tickets. This earned credit can either be added to your own LNER account or given to an LNER nominated charity. We reserve the right to increase or reduce the amount of LNER PERKS credit earned on every £1 spent on LNER tickets.
  2. All journeys where a customer travels on a LNER train (whether for the whole journey or just part of it) are eligible for LNER PERKS earned credit. So, a journey on a LNER train between York and London King’s Cross would receive credit, as would a journey including travel on a LNER train (for example, a journey from Scarborough to Brighton, which would connect onto a LNER service between York and London King’s Cross).
  3. If you are a Season Ticket holder you can collect LNER PERKS earned credit on qualifying routes and tickets. For more information view the LNER PERKS credit for Season Ticket terms and conditions below.
  4. In order to collect LNER PERKS earned credit on a journey you must either be a member of LNER PERKS at the point of purchase or join the scheme within 48 hours of purchase.
  5. Credit cannot be earned on any element of a transaction which is paid for by redeeming a National Rail Travel voucher.
  6. For tickets that are non-refundable: if you have requested earned credit to be added to your own LNER account the credit will appear in your account within 28 days of the date of travel. If you have chosen to donate the credit to one of LNER’s nominated charities, this will be transferred to the charity the month after your date of travel
  7. For tickets that are refundable: if you have requested earned credit to be added to your own account, the credit will appear in your account within 28 days of the date of travel if the ticket is not refunded. If you have chosen to donate the credit to one of LNER’s nominated charities, this will be transferred to the charity the month after your date of travel if your ticket is not refunded.
  8. Where a ticket is refunded no credit earned from the original purchase will be added to your LNER account or passed to a charity.
  9. LNER reserves the right to: (a) withdraw at any time any LNER PERKS earned credit that were granted in the case of any fraudulent activity or in error; (b) withhold or delay issuing LNER PERKS earned credit; or (c) change these terms at any time.
  10. LNER PERKS earned credit has no cash value. Unused, expired and redeemed credit cannot be refunded, exchanged or returned. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Spending Credit Terms and Conditions

Spending your LNER PERKS joining credit

  1. LNER PERKS joining credit can be used as part payment on LNER Advance ticket transactions only made using the LNER mobile app that cost above £5.15.
  2. LNER PERKS earned credit can be used to purchase eVouchers via LNER.co.uk (desktop website or mobile website) or the LNER mobile app. Any eVouchers purchased either fully or in part using LNER PERKS credit can then only be redeemed against LNER Advance ticket transactions made using the LNER mobile app.
  3. LNER PERKS joining credit cannot be used to purchase any tickets or products other than LNER Advance tickets using the LNER mobile app.
  4. LNER PERKS joining credit cannot be used to purchase LNER eVouchers.
  5. LNER PERKS joining credit has no cash value. Unused, expired and redeemed credit cannot be refunded, exchanged or returned. This does not affect your statutory rights.
  6. You can also use your LNER PERKS joining credit directly on the payment pages of the LNER mobile app, provided you are signed in to your LNER account when selecting your LNER Advance ticket(s).
  7. All joining credit is subject to an expiry date of 24 months from the date of whichever of the following is the most recent:
  • The customers most recent ticket purchase via LNER.co.uk or the LNER mobile app
  • The customers most recent addition of a ticket not bought directly from LNER.co.uk (desktop website, mobile website) or the LNER mobile app
  • The date the customer first joined LNER PERKS

7. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to alter this expiry date. We would provide reasonable notice of no less than 30 days of any alteration to expiry date.

8. If you do not spend the entire value of your LNER PERKS joining credit in one transaction, the remaining value will be stored in your LNER account until you wish to use on your next booking using the LNER mobile app, or the expiry date, which ever date is soonest.

Spending your LNER PERKS earned credit

  1. Any LNER PERKS earned credit can be used as either full or part payment on LNER Advance ticket transactions only made using the LNER mobile app.
  2. LNER PERKS earned credit can be used to purchase eVouchers via LNER.co.uk (desktop website or mobile website) or the LNER mobile app. Any eVouchers purchased either fully or in part using LNER PERKS credit can then only be redeemed against LNER Advance ticket transactions made using the LNER mobile app.
  3. LNER PERKS earned credit has no cash value. Unused, expired and redeemed credit cannot be refunded, exchanged or returned. This does not affect your statutory rights.
  4. You can also use your LNER PERKS earned credit directly on the payment pages of the LNER mobile app, provided you are signed in to your LNER account when selecting your LNER Advance ticket(s).
  5. LNER Perks earned credit vouchers are subject to an expiry date of 24 months from the date of whichever of the following is most recent:
  • The customers most recent ticket purchase via LNER.co.uk or the LNER mobile app.
  • The customers most recent addition of a ticket not bought directly from LNER.co.uk (desktop website, mobile website) or the LNER mobile app.

We reserve the right, at our discretion, to alter this expiry date. We would provide reasonable notice of no less than 30 days of any alteration to expiry date.

6. If you do not spend the entire value of your LNER PERKS earned credit in one transaction, the remaining value will be stored in your LNER account until you wish to use on your next booking using the LNER mobile app, or the expiry date, which ever date is soonest.

7. You will be eligible to receive LNER PERKS earned credit on the full value of any element of any LNER Advance ticket transaction which has been part or fully paid for by redeeming credit in accordance with these terms and conditions.

Key Conditions to Redeem the Rewards

This is a summary of the key conditions to redeem rewards. It does not replace the full terms & conditions of Mention Me. 

Referrer Rewards (existing member) 

  1. The referrer is offered a reward of £10 LNER Perks credit added to their LNER account for each friend who joins LNER Perks and travels with LNER for the first time. The reward is subject to the referred friend meeting all qualifying conditions.
  2. Once the referrer shares the referral link, the referred friend has 3 months to accept and complete their registration with LNER Perks. If the referral is not accepted within 3 months, the referrer will need to generate and share a new referral link. LNER processes the referrer’s and referred friend’s personal data under the lawful basis of legitimate interest during this period.
  3. In order for the referrer to qualify for the £10 LNER Perks reward, the referred friend (new member) must be a completely new member to LNER Perks and must meet the qualifying conditions for receiving the reward. This includes registering for LNER Perks, making a valid purchase, and traveling with LNER.
    1. The referrer must already be an active member of LNER Perks to be eligible to refer others
    2. Self-referrals are not permitted. An existing LNER Perks member is not entitled to refer themselves or use alternate emails/accounts for self-referral. Any attempt to do so will result in disqualification from the scheme and forfeiture of rewards.
    3. The referrer must be over the age of 18 to participate in this referral program.
  4. Rewards will be cumulative, and if multiple qualifying referrals are made to LNER Perks, multiple rewards will be delivered to the referrer, subject to the following limits:
  5. A referrer may not earn more than 5 rewards within any 24-hour period or 25 rewards within a rolling 12-month period. LNER reserves the right to refuse or withhold rewards if the referral activity exceeds typical user behaviour or if there are indications of fraudulent activity. Referrers who refer more than 10 friends within a 24-hour period should not expect rewards to be issued automatically, and further investigation may be required.
  6. The £10 Perks credit will be delivered to the referrer within 28 days after the referred friend’s completed travel, provided the referred friend’s purchase is not cancelled or refunded. If the purchase is cancelled or refunded, the referrer will not be eligible for the reward.
  7. The referrer will be notified by email once the referred friend has made a purchase, completed their travel, and the reward has been earned.
  8. The £10 Perks credit will be valid for 24 months from the date it is credited to the referrer’s account, in accordance with the standard LNER Perks Terms and Conditions.
  9. LNER reserves the right to refuse, revoke, or reclaim any rewards issued in connection with suspected fraudulent activity. Legal action may be pursued for fraudulent claims. Additionally, users found to be engaging in any prohibited behaviour, such as self-referrals, the use of fake accounts, or providing false information, may be banned from future promotions.
  10. LNER reserves the right to modify or end this promotion at any time, with reasonable notice provided to participants. Any modifications will be published on the relevant LNER webpage. Participants are encouraged to review the terms periodically
  11. LNER Perks benefits are discretionary. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to decline to issue, withdraw, or cancel LNER Perks credit vouchers at any time without prior notice.
  12. Each customer is permitted to maintain one LNER Perks membership. Multiple accounts, referrals to the same person under different email addresses, or any attempt to game the system will result in account suspension and forfeiture of rewards.
  13. We reserve the right to refuse, merge, or terminate additional accounts at our discretion. In cases of suspected fraudulent activity, including but not limited to the creation of multiple accounts, impersonation, or submission of false information, LNER reserves the right to disqualify participants, recover any rewards issued, and pursue legal action. This may also result in the suspension of all related LNER Perks accounts. LNER reserves the right to monitor referral activity and investigate any suspicious behaviour. Accounts engaging in high-frequency referrals inconsistent with typical user behaviour will be subject to review, and rewards may be withheld during investigation. We reserve the right to suspend accounts during this investigation period.

Referred Friend Rewards (new member) 

  • The referred friend is offered a reward of £10 LNER Perks credit, which will be added to their LNER account after being referred by a friend, making a purchase of £10 or more for travel with LNER, and completing their travel.
  1. £10 Perks credit will be added up to 28 days after the journey has taken place, as per standard LNER Perks terms and conditions 
  2. In order to qualify for the reward the referred friend must be a new customer to LNER Perks and over the age of 18. 
  3. Any rewards will be revoked if a refund or cancellation is requested on the order for which the reward was offered. 
  4. The referred friend reward cannot be claimed by the same person who made the referral.
  5. Limits are in place on the number and frequency of referrals made by any single referrer. Rewards may not be issued if these limits are exceeded.
  6. Each customer is permitted to maintain one membership of LNER PERKS, and we reserve the right to terminate membership and/or revoke any associated scheme benefits if we suspect that an individual holds multiple memberships. We also reserve the right to refuse, merge, or terminate additional accounts at our discretion. In cases where fraudulent activity is discovered, including but not limited to the creation of multiple accounts, impersonation, or submitting false information, LNER reserves the right to disqualify participants, recover any issued rewards, and pursue legal action. This may also result in the suspension of all LNER Perks accounts involved. LNER reserves the right to monitor referral activity and investigate any suspicious patterns of behaviour. Any account found engaging in high-frequency referrals that are not in line with typical user behaviour will be subject to review, and rewards may be withheld pending investigation. We reserve the right to suspend accounts during the investigation period.

Full terms and conditions valid from Friday, 7 August 2020, v.1.3 (English (UK)) 

  1. These Terms and Conditions 

1.1. Mention Me Limited are registered in England and Wales under company number 08382730 with a registered office at 20-22 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU ("we", "our" or "Mention Me"). Mention Me’s UK VAT number is 177039686. Should you have any questions on these terms please get in contact with us at support@mention-me.com

1.2. Mention Me provides the technology, support and administration services (the "Services") to enable merchants (the "Merchant") to run programmes (each a "Programme") through which they can offer their customers or clients rewards ("Rewards"). These Programmes may include the following services: 

       1.2.1. refer-a-friend services where customers or clients are offered Rewards in exchange for those customers or clients ("Referrers") referring their friends ("Referred Friends") to the Merchant’s products or services (the "Merchant Goods or Services"); and 

       1.2.2. such other services where customers or clients are offered Rewards or the option to provide feedback to Merchants. 

1.3. These terms apply to individuals who are accessing or using a Programme as a Referrer, a Referred Friend and/or otherwise a customer and the use of "User" or "you" shall be a reference to any of these terms as the context permits. 

1.4. By participating in a Programme and using the Services, Users agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions in their entirety you should not participate in the Programme in any manner. Users may not participate in the Programme where doing so would be prohibited by any applicable law or regulations. 

1.5. We reserve the right to modify or amend at any time these Terms and Conditions. Any amendments or new terms and conditions will be available on our website and/or via the landing page of the website where the relevant Programme is being offered. The Terms and Conditions that apply to you shall be the Terms and Conditions published at the time you participate in the relevant Programme. 

  1. The Programme 

2.1. The Programme, and your participation in it, is also subject to the Programme Terms and Conditions which are made available on the webpage where the relevant Programme is being offered. 

2.2. You acknowledge and agree that the Programme is being offered and made available by the relevant Merchant. Mention Me’s role and responsibility is limited to providing technology, administration and support services to the Merchant in connection with the Programme. 

2.3. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions and participating in a Programme you confirm that: 

       2.3.1. You are at least the minimum age permitted by applicable law to enter into these Terms and Conditions; 

       2.3.2. all of the information you have or will provide to Mention Me during your receipt of the Services is true and accurate, to the best of your knowledge; and 

       2.3.3. You are responsible for configuring and maintaining your hardware, software and network connection to enable you to access any Mention Me Platform (as defined below). 

2.4 You agree that you will not, whilst using the Mention Me Services or accessing the Mention Me Platform: 

       2.4.1. use the Services for any illegal or immoral purposes, or for any purpose other than your participation in a Programme; 

       2.4.2. use the Services in any way that interrupts, damages or impairs them, or otherwise renders the Services less efficient; 

       2.4.3. impersonate any other person (living or dead), misrepresent your connection with a person or entity, or provide false or otherwise misleading information; and 

       2.4.4. access or attempt to access the accounts of other users or to penetrate or attempt to penetrate the security measures of the Mention Me Platform. 

2.5. When you send a communication to a Referred Friend, you confirm that: 

       2.5.1. any such Referred Friend is personally known to you; 

       2.5.2. You have, where reasonably practical, obtained the consent of the Referred Friend before contacting them; 

       2.5.3. You understand that you are the sender of all communications under the Services, and you should comply with all applicable laws in relation to the sending of electronic communications; and 

       2.5.4. You will not enter or otherwise use information of any third party or Referred Friend in order to use the Services for any bulk email distribution, distribution to strangers, or any other promotion of a personal link in a manner that would constitute or appear to constitute (in Mention Me’s sole discretion) unsolicited commercial email or "spam". 

2.6. For a User to qualify for a Reward, a Referred Friend must: 

       2.6.1. not be a current customer and have never been a customer of the Merchant under any email address or alias; 

       2.6.2. have purchased goods or services from the Merchant having accessed the Programme; and 

       2.6.3. comply with any other criteria notified to it. 

2.7. If we reasonably believe that you have breached any of these Terms and Conditions, we reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate your use of the Services without notifying you, and without further liability to you, including without any liability in respect of you no longer being able to participate in or benefit from any Programme. 

2.8. We will not charge you a fee for receiving the Services. We may receive a payment from the relevant Merchant for your participation in the Programme. 

  1. Our Obligations to you 

3.1. Our obligations to you under these Terms and Conditions are limited to Mention Me using commercially reasonable endeavours to provide the Services to you in respect of your selected Programme. 

3.2. All Programmes are independently operated by Merchants under separate Merchant Terms and Conditions. To benefit from any Programme, you must enter into an independent agreement between you and the relevant Merchant, which Mention Me will not be a party to and under which we will have no rights or obligations. 

3.3. Whilst we take reasonable steps to ensure Merchants operate responsibly and in compliance with applicable laws, Mention Me has no control over the operation of any Programme, and will not be liable for: 

       3.3.1. the performance of any Merchant under any Merchant Terms and Conditions; 

       3.3.2. the variation, suspension or cancellation of any Programme; 

       3.3.3. the offer, redemption or fulfilment of any Reward to you or any Referred Friend under any Programme; or 

       3.3.4. the supply of any Merchant Goods or Services to you or any Referred Friend by a Merchant under or in relation to a Programme. 

3.4. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate the provision of  some or all Services to the Merchant in respect of any Programme (whether generally or in respect of a specific User) at any time upon receipt of a request to do so by the Merchant or if we reasonably consider that such suspension of the services is necessary in the interests of Mention Me, the Merchant or any User. 

3.5. Please be aware that internet transmissions are never completely private or secure and that any message or information you send using any Mention Me Platform may be read or intercepted by others, even if there is a special notice that a particular transmission is encrypted. 

3.6. Users will be provided with a unique and personal Mention Me "sharing dashboard" page or account to view their referrals and any Rewards to which they are entitled. 

  1. Data Protection 

4.1. LNER and Mention Me process personal data under the lawful basis of legitimate interest for the purpose of administering the referral program. This includes using referrers' and referred friends' personal data to provide rewards and maintain the integrity of the scheme. Participants have the right to object to this processing under legitimate interest by contacting the LNER Data Protection Officer.

4.2. All Personal Data held by Mention Me is dealt with strictly in accordance with our Privacy Policy, a copy of which can be viewed here

4.3. We do not knowingly process personal data from children. If you are a child do not use or provide any information about yourself including without limitation your name, address, email address or screen name or user name you may use. If we learn that we have collected or received personal data from a child without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe that we may have any information from or about a child, please contact us at the email address above. 

  1. Web pages hosted by Mention Me 

5.1. Certain of the web pages you visit or IT infrastructure you use in connection with the Programme may be hosted or operated by Mention Me (the "Mention Me Platform"). We do not guarantee that the Mention Me Platform will be secure or free from bugs or viruses. 

5.2. You are responsible for configuring your information technology, computer programmes and platform to access our site. You should use your own virus protection software. 

5.3. You must not misuse the Mention Me Platform by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our site, the server on which our site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to our site. You must not attack our site via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack. 

5.4. Web pages we operate, including the Mention Me Platform, may contain links to other independent web pages which are not operated by Mention Me, including those operated by Merchants. Such independent sites are not under Mention Me’s control, and we are not liable for, and give no warranty or guarantee of any sort, that we have checked, screened or approved their content or their privacy policies in any way. 

5.5. You will need to make your own independent judgement about whether to use any such third party sites, including whether to buy any products or services offered by them. 

  1. Intellectual Property Rights 

6.1. The Services, the Mention Me Platform, and all information and materials contained on or in them, and all intellectual property rights which are expressed or embodied in any of them are the property of Mention Me or our licensors, and nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to transfer any rights in any of them. 

6.2. You agree that any comments, communications, ideas or other materials or information ("Customer Suggestions") that you may provide to us through or in relation to the Services and the website is provided on a non-confidential basis. Furthermore, you agree that any Customer Suggestions you provide will be deemed to be our property once supplied to us and you assign all and any intellectual property rights that may exist in the Customer Suggestions to us. We will be under no restriction in relation to the Customer Suggestions and may use it as we see fit. 

  1. Our liability 

7.1. No part of these Terms and Conditions are intended to exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes our liability for: 

7.1.1. death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors; or 

       7.1.2. fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. 

7.2. We will not be liable to you for any financial or economic loss or for any consequential or indirect loss such as loss to reputation, lost bargain, lost profit, loss of anticipated savings or lost opportunity arising as a result of or in connection with your participation in the Programme (whether suffered or incurred as a result of our negligence or otherwise). 

7.3. For the avoidance of doubt, the liability excluded under clause 7 includes any loss arising from your dealings with any Merchant or arising from the Merchant Goods or Services and we shall have no liability to you whatsoever for any act or omission of the Merchant in connection with the Merchant Goods or Services or any of the matters set out in clause 3.3 above. 

7.4. No part of these Terms and Conditions are intended to affect your legal rights. 

  1. General 

8.1. No term of these Terms and Conditions will be enforceable by virtue of the Contract (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 by any person that is not a party to it. 

8.2. We may assign or sub-contract any of our rights or obligations under these Terms and Conditions. 

8.3. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is prohibited by law or judged by a court to be unlawful, void or unenforceable, the provision shall, to the extent required, be severed from these Terms and Conditions and rendered ineffective as far as possible without modifying the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions and shall not in any way affect any other circumstances of or the validity or enforcement of these Terms and Conditions. 

8.4. The agreement between you and Mention Me under these Terms and Conditions is personal to you and may not be transferred by you to any third party. 

8.5. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by English law and you agree that any dispute (contractual or non-contractual) arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England. 

Ticket Import Terms and Conditions

Member Benefits for Tickets not bought directly from LNER.co.uk (desktop website, mobile website) or the LNER mobile app, including but not limited to tickets bought at stations, from another online retailer, or from another Train Operator

  1. Tickets where the customer either has a two-dimensional barcode (also known a QR code or an Aztec code) or a ticket collection reference can be added to LNER PERKS by using the LNER mobile app.
  2. For eligible tickets an earned credit of 2% of every £1 spent on LNER tickets will be added to the customers LNER account. This earned credit cannot be donated to charity.
  3. For the ticket to be eligible a seat reservation must have been made at the point of booking. Tickets where a seat reservation has not been made at the point of booking are not eligible to earn LNER PERKS credit.
  4. To be eligible for earned credit a ticket must:
  • Be valid for travel on a LNER train (whether for the whole journey or just part of it)
  • Have a travel date no more than 7 days prior to the date of the ticket being added to LNER PERKS
  • Not have been previously added to the scheme
  • Not have been sold online through lner.co.uk (desktop website, mobile website) or the LNER mobile app
  • Not have been refunded
  • Include a seat reservation that was made at the point of booking.

5. To be eligible for earned credit the customer adding the ticket must:

  • Be a member of LNER PERKS at the point that ticket is added
  • Not have previously added more than one other ticket with the same travel date
  • Not have added more than 15 tickets in the last 7 days
  • Not have added tickets with a combined cost of over £1,000 in the last 7 days
  1. Season Tickets that are not bought online through lner.co.uk (desktop website, mobile website) or the LNER mobile app cannot be added to LNER PERKS
  2. Earned credit will appear in your account within 28 days of your date of travel where the ticket is non-refundable.
  3. For tickets that are refundable the earned credit will appear in your account within 28 days of the date of travel if the ticket is not refunded. Where a ticket is refunded no credit will be added to the account.
  4. LNER reserves the right to: (a) withdraw at any time any LNER PERKS earned credit that were granted in the case of any fraudulent activity or in error; (b) withhold or delay issuing LNER PERKS earned credit; or (c) change these terms at any time.

Season Ticket Terms and Conditions

Member Benefits for Season Tickets bought online through LNER.co.uk (desktop website, mobile website) or the LNER mobile app

  1. Season Tickets purchased through LNER.co.uk (desktop website and mobile website) and the LNER mobile app can receive an earned credit of 2% for every £1 when purchasing season tickets providing the ticket meets the following qualifying criteria:
  • The Season Ticket is a weekly, monthly or annual ticket.
  • The journey covered by the Season Ticket is made between qualifying starting and destination stations and is ‘Route: Any Permitted’  View the list of qualifying routes.
  • The Season Ticket is a full price adult ticket (excludes Child and Privilege tickets) 

2. In order to collect LNER PERKS earned credit on a journey you must either be a member of LNER PERKS at the point of purchase or join the scheme within 48 hours of purchase

3. Earned credit is awarded on a monthly basis If a season ticket is refunded, no credit will be awarded for season ticket travel during the month it was refunded.

4. Season Ticket holders are awarded earned credit for purchases of qualifying season tickets (as outlined above). Members are not permitted to earn credit from other people’s season ticket purchases.

5. For monthly and annual Season Tickets, earned credit will be apportioned on a monthly basis (on or around the 1st of each month) until all the credit earned on your purchase of the season ticket have been credited.

6. Earned credit awarded will be based on the number of days that the ticket was valid during that month using the following calculation:

((validity in previous month in days / total ticket period in days) x total cost of the Season Ticket) x 2

By way of illustration, if a Season Ticket cost £500 and the ticket was valid for a total ticket period of 3 months and 10 days (102 days in total) and 8 days of that period occurred during the previous month (e.g. 24 to 31 inclusive), the calculation will be:
((8 / 102) x 500) x 2 = £0.78 earned credit awarded that month.

7. For weekly Season Tickets, the earned credit will be awarded within 28 days after the weekly travel period has passed. 

8. If a Season Ticket is refunded part way through, no earned credit will be awarded for season ticket travel during the week or month it was refunded.
